Dr Marie-Helene Marion is a consultant neurologist, who pioneered the use of Botox in neurology in France in1986 and has been working since 1998 in UK both as a NHS consultant ( St George’s hospital) and in private practice. Dr Marion is specialised in Parkinson’s disease, and in the use of Botulinum toxin (also called Botox) in the treatment of movement disorders such as blepharospasm, cervical dystonia, head tremor and hemifacial spasm.
Dr Marion also used Botox injections for the treatment of facial palsy (Bell’s palsy), chronic migraine and excessive sweating ( armpits, hands and face). She performed EMG guided injections for the treatment of antecollis (neck flexion dystonia) and spasmodic dysphonia in joint clinic with an ENT specialist. Dr Marion is a the chair of the British Neurotoxin Network ( www.neurotoxinnetwork.org), which gathered UK clinicians using Botox injections in the treatment of neurological conditions and a medical advisor for the UK Dystonia society.
